At the core of an algo trading platform in production

You join a team directly exposed to the business, made up of algo traders, quants and specialist developers, within a corporate and investment bank. The platform runs in production, with a direct effect on market operations.

This is not standard application development: performance, predictable response times and robustness are what decide whether code reaches production.

the role

Building trading components where latency is measured

  • Developing and optimising the platform's core Java components, with low latency as a constant objective.
  • Implementing and continuously improving trading, pricing and hedging algorithms, working closely with quants and traders.
  • In-depth work on concurrency, multithreading and fine-grained memory management to limit garbage collector pressure.
  • JVM analysis and optimisation: profiling, tuning, JIT behaviour, allocation analysis.
  • Integration with the front office ecosystem: real-time market data feeds, FIX connectivity, time-series databases.

who we are looking for

Who we are looking for

  • At least six years of Java development in technically demanding environments — capital markets, trading, real-time or critical platforms — including three in a front office environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in algorithms, performance and concurrent systems.
  • Ability to justify architecture and implementation choices from a performance standpoint.
  • Appetite for the low-level side of Java: memory, garbage collection, CPU, latency.
  • Fluent professional English, as the context is international.
